| So I read this last month for the book club at the local comic shop here. It's a comic I would never read in a million years on my own. There's no mystery, no super heroes, no villains, no monsters, no escapism, nothing that would normally draw me to a comic. But I have to say: This was one of the best books I've ever read. It was sad, touching, though provoking, beautifully illustrated. Just a really good book. The main character is an obituary writer for a newspaper in Brazil. And essentially it just discusses death, life, meaning, relationships, family, etc. But it's a really great read. There were literally times I teared up. It's very relatable and down to earth, and makes you reflect on yourself and your life. Man, what a great book. | |
