I need to check some of those out. I'm a Transformers G1 cartoon fan, but haven't really ever picked up any of the comics and have always felt I've been missing out. I did pick up the first two True Blood series by IDW on my iPad a few months ago. I felt the first one was so so, but the 2nd one "Tainted Love" felt more like the HBO series and had a better storyline. I haven't read any of the 3rd series yet.

| Dang it!!! Dog gone it all!!!! Gosh golly gee whiz!!!! Crap!!!!
I picked up issues 20-27 of IDWs GI Joe series that ran from 2008 to 2011. They were in the dollar bin at my comic shop on the weekend. So I grabed them just for kicks. I've been avoiding GI Joe titles just because I figured I would not enjoy them because they don't follow the story of the older books from when I was a kid. Well I read a few last night and this morning. And I REALLY LIKE IT ALOT!!!!! I like the new take on the characters. The art is killer and the story is awesome. I'll have to hunt down issues 0-19 now. The nice thing about theres ones is there's a little recap of the previous issue in the front cover. I like that because it catchs you up if you haven't read the previous book.
This series went 27 issues. And then went to volume 2 from I've been able to figure out. And the current GI Joe title from IDW is the new volume. They also do A GI Joe: A Real American Hero series that continues the Marvel book from when I was a kid. So now I'll have to catch up on that one sometime too.
So long story short is, if you haven't tried any of these Joe titles. Give them a looksee.

| Last night I read some of IDW's The Rocketer adventures, I admit it was better than I throught they would be not a bad little comic. I also like the fact they have kept him in his right time zone and not gone down the Rocketer in the modern age, if I see any again in the bargain bin I will be picking them up for sure. | |

| I have to pick up the first trade of the Rocketeer Adventures. I've read a bit in my local comic book store and the art was fantastic. They really got some good artists on those stories. I'm just hoping they can find good enough artists and writers to keep that quality up. | |

I only picked up the 1st issue of the Rocketer as it was cheap, but I loved it but I still have to find all the rest now.

| I read the new Godzilla and it was ok. The art reminds me of Manhatten Projects, which I didnt really care for too much. The story so far itself is good the way it started out. So Ill probally pick up the next issue to see how it goes from here. | |

| I'm not sure if I will pick this one up now, herd a few ok reviews, and now Bleeding cool are saying that the 1st print has now sold out, so unless I find a copy at a good price I wont bother. Thanks for letting me know what you thought of it Chris | |

I know I Know its sad, but I'm not sure why its just one of them things, Not sure if its a money thing or if its to be able to say I have been into that from the 1st printing/issue, maybe its both, more that likely its just my OCD All I know is for me to get it as a second print its got to be a very good story or an item that I NEED to have in my life I have loads of stupid little habits in my comic collecting life, like I'm for ever changing bags and boards, and comic boxes if they get the smallest mark on them, when in reality there is nothing wrong with them. When using tape on bags I will only use 3M tape, and this tape can not be used for anything else. At this point I'm going to stop as I sound like a big sad freak

There's a certain way I do things, and I don't like to deviate from it either. Including, bags and boards, boxes, tape, all of that has to be a certain way. As far as first printings go, I'm the same way with that, too. Although nowadays I'll grab second printings too, because they will often have a variant cover, or something like that to give me an incentive to buy it again.

| You're no weirder than the rest of us Mike. We all have our habits when it comes to collecting. I only use 3M tape or the Rexall brand we sell at my store. And it has to be that frosted looking kind. Because it peels off really easily when I go to open the bag up later and it doesn't seem to turn to goo years down the line like clear tape. And my "Comic Tape" is mine. Look out if I go to use it and it's not there . Boxs I'm not too fussy about. But it drives me nuts when the bags don't fold just right when I'm baggging a bunch of books up. Also I'm anal about doing a bunch of bags and boards up ahead of time so I don't have to do it as I'm bagging the books. I fill a short box with boards already in bags so when I get a bunch of books in I can just drop them right in no musss no fuss. | |

| I think just being a collector has a certain amount of OCD that goes along with it. | |

| Im the same way. I try my best to get first issues when and where possible. If I cant at the shop, I'll scour Ebay until I can find it. Guess it cause each print has a different cover and Im becoming a varitard, but I rather have first prints. I have a few newer ones I have to hunt down now. One is a Wolverine 4th print with the Old Man Logan tri cover. I want the rest of those so I can have the full set for the title and first print to see what it looks like. | |

That sir is a term for people who collect little plastic men. Such as Star Wars. Over here you're a "Papertard". Just wanted to get the lingo right for you.
