As soon as I walked through the doors I was at the front of an informal chat with Joe Quesada But half way into it my Mrs phoned so I went to answer the phone
Kapow Comic con London 2012 003-1
But because of the phone I did get to say a few words to him as he came of stage after his interview he said a fair bit about the new avengers movie and some of there upcoming sequels (Paul I did ask him if the Hulk will be getting any more of his own films after the good job that Mark Ruffalo did but I got told just that he could not say and just to wait and see Laughing ).
After that we were entertained buy some Mexican wrestling which was good fun to watch, then it was time to hit the market area (where way to much time was spent as well as money)

At the bottom right you can just make out Mark Miller signing

Kapow Comic con London 2012 001-7

In between all the shopping there were the panels and the signing, I was going to report most of the news from there here but I was like a dizzy little kid and forgot most of what was talked about (note to self next time take a little note book)
Also must charge Camera battery's up the night before as its at this point it died, (note to self take photos of lady cosplayers before venue)
Some of the news that did come out at the convention was
- DC Comics To Switch The Sexual Orientation Of An Established Character
- Jonathan Ross is Considering a podcast about Comic Books
- The Recolouring Of The X-Force Omnibus

All around the 2nd level of the arena is artists ally with some very nice artists who will happily do a sketch for you and all of who seemed very nice when you talked to them even if your not getting them to do a drawing, also up there was a portfolio review and some of the ones that I saw I'm not sure how the hell some of them are not working in comics already they were simply stunning.
All in all I enjoyed Kapow its has a nice laid back attitude, and all through the weekend you would turn around and one of the guests would be flicking through the comic boxes next to you, so if you are in London next year make sure you visit when this one is one, because I know that I will be going for sure.

You lucky shit. That looked like it was a blast. Now I know I cant wait to make it to my first Con now. Sad thing is, I only reconize 2 of the names. Joe and Warren Ellis. Embarassed I think I wouldve been the same way up in there, a 10 year old kid.

That's freaking awesome. And I agree 10 years old going there. Mike you have to post pics of your haul in the recent pickups thread.

I have Chris beat though. I don't recognize any names on that list except Dan DiDio. But as I've stated before I'm clueless as to writers and artists.

Don't worry I went and some of the Guest's were names I had never herd off Laughing, It was a total blast and I loved every second of it. I am going to have to try my hardest to get over to SDCC as I know it would be out of this world, but I cant see the Mrs saying yes to that one Laughing.

Looks like a great comic convention. So many great artists on that list. Such a shame that the best conventions are abroad for me. Still London is managable for me so maybe I should look into planning a short holiday when the next Kapow is being held. On the pics it doesn't look like it's too crowded or am I mistaken?

RoBop- it was quite busy there, but it was one of them events where there is always something going on so it never felt like it was to busy, the only times it got crowded was when nothing was happening, so that was a good excuse to go to the pub just down the road for a beer or two.
If you do come over next year (if they have one nothing has been announced yet) let me know and we can meet up for a beer or two.

Man, that's a sweet guest list!! I would love to get Scott Snyder's signature on some Bat books, and Charlie Adlard on my signed Walking Deads.

Super cool man, and thanks for posting this! It's always way cool to me to see what is going on across the pond. We really don't get any word of things happening over there.
