I'm tired of Spider-Man. There I said it. I don't get why Marvel's flagship character is sucking so bad. Do you know who is writing it? Do you know who is daring it? Me, either. And I read it very other week. THey need to get some A-list talent on here. And fast.

Right now, when I read Amazing Spider-Man, I forget the entire story inside an hour. It's just filler. What happened to having good plots?

And it's not some lowly D-List book. It's freaking Amazing Spider-Man. Get off your butt, Marvel!

As a side note, I REALLY like the new Venom title. It's a whole new, cool dynamic with Flash Thompson having the symbiotic. And this whole Circle of Four, fighting demons from Hell story has been awesome!

Just picked up all 5 parts of that Venom story. Ill be diving into it tonight. Another one that looks promising is Carnage U.S.A. Too bad I only got the first few issues of it, but Ill deal with it until the last couple are out.

If you can track down all the Venom issues since it's "relaunch," I think it's well worth it. It's one of my favorite books going, and they're only up to issue 13.4.

I also wanted to give a shout out to the new Ultimate Spider-Man title. By my estimation, it's been a totally cool book. Miles Morales as the new Spidey is a totally cool character, with unique motivations and back story. I like it a lot. Which makes me wonder why they can't have that same level of awesomeness in Amazing Spider-Man.

I was all set to pick up Amazing # 679.1 and 680 when I hit Starange Adventures this week. now i'm not so sure Crying or Very sad . I used to read spidy quite alot when i was a kid. and then drifted away from comics for a few years. And started picking Spidy up again right at the start of the whole Clone Saga thing. And drifted away just after the saga ended. i haven't picked up any Spidy since getting back into comics this time around but will grab the two already mentioned to see what's up.

I have the first issue of the new Scarlet Spider and i loved that. I was pumped after I was done reading it and it was only the first issue!! I'll grab issue 2 this weekend.

So i should give this new Venom thing a try??

Anyone elese like Avenging Spider-Man.?? I picked up issue 1 a couple weeks ago and I liked it well enough to grab issue 2 to try. I know it's up to issue 5 or something but I'm a bit behind.

Avenging and Amazing are 2 of the titles I passed on today. Too much good stuff out there to get it. Im going to get the rest of the Venom stuff I can find next time I go back. They had some good prices on their back issues, mostly cover price, so Ill be able to land a good bit of it all.

Paul, I really like Scarlet Spider, too. I like the "all the power, none of the responsibility" dynamic they focus on.

As for the Venom, I think it's definitely worth a look. It's Flash Thompson now, and the symbiote is government property, so he's like a special agent with the Venom as a weapon. Just a cool book.

I just read Amazing Spider-Man 682. It's the first issue of the Ends of the Earth storyline this week. I gotta say, I really liked it! Finally a decent Spider-Man story.

NOt to give away too much, but it involves Doc Ock and the Sinister Six, and a new Spidey suit at the end. But it finally feels like a big, epic Spider-Man story, instead of the filler kind of stories lately. Even Spider-Island was a let down for me. But this story seems to be off to a great start.

I'm finally looking forward to Spider-Man again!

Avenging Spider-Man is growing on me as well. This last issue was the first part of the Spidey, Punisher, and Daredevil crossover, The Omega Effect.

It's always cool to me to see other heroes interact with The Punisher, since most don't agree with his methods, and aren't quite sure what to make of them.

But the Avenging Spider-Man title started really weak to me, with him fighting Moloids under NYC, but it seems to get better and better as it goes along.

I'm really liking Avenging Spidy since the launch of that title. I liked the first story arc with Red Hulk and the Mole Men. I was more put off by the art from those issues than the story. Since then both story and art have ben on the upswing. The current one with Punisher and DD is really good. I'll have to pick up Punisher and DD this month to finish the story though Evil or Very Mad dang crossovers.

Thanks for mentioning that Paul. I was trying to remember which titles crossed over, but couldnt remember which Spidey it was. I think its only for those 3 issues and thats it.

I'm still a couple of issues behind on most of the Spider-Man titles, but I'm really liking the latest story in Amazing Spider-Man. It's the Ends of the Earth, and it's a great Dock Ock story. He's gathered the Sinister Six again, and shown the world that he can stop global warming with a series of satellites. Most of the world believes him, and wants to let him, but Spider-Man is trying to stop him, thinking that he will actually use the satellites to destroy the Earth.

It's been great so far though. I don't want to give too much away, but it's the best Spidey story I've read in a while. I recommend picking it up.

I finished the Ends of the Earth story, and I really liked it. It was a good Spidey story with lots of villains, twists, and a solid ending. I need to get caught up on Avenging Spider-Man, though.

And it' hard to keep up with ASM since it's bi-weekly. You can get far behind really quickly.

So next week has the release of Peter Parker: Spider-Man #156.1. From the description of this one it sounds like its going to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Spidy by visiting all eras of his history with each issue. i like this idea and will most likely check it out. anyone else?

I'm not sure. If they do it like Hulk Smash Avengers, where it's a new story set in a different era, I'll like it. If it's just a reprint of an old story, I won't be into it.
