For my wife's birthday I picked her up the first 7 HC's of the Walking Dead. What a great read! I cannot recommend them enough!

Cool is the Mrs into comics as well? if she is you are a very lucky man, mine only just about puts up with the star wars let alone the comics Laughing or is it just a walking dead thing?

Well this was an experiment for sure! Luckily it was well received. I wouldn't say she is into comics, but she doesn't dismiss them. She was a English Major so if it's well written she will give it a try. My wife has read & enjoyed Preacher, Watchmen, LOEG, Peepshow, Hellboy, Lone Wolf & Cub & the Tick. I don't own a lot of comics anymore so her exposure has been limited. I do plan on getting Fables & Planetary for her at some point, I think she will enjoy those as well.

Has she read Sandman by Neil Gaiman? I always think that's a well written comic.

Alright, it's time to get back into the swing of things and post some recent pickups cheers . I've been busy with moving house but have also been pciking up some books in between boxs. hehehe. I'm not going to bother showing the weekly pull lsit books. Too many to show and I have most of them read and stored already. LOL But I pciked up some killer back issues and complete sets that i'm sure you'll like to see. I'm ro lazy to do them all in one limelight so I'm going to break it up over the next few days so stay tuned. Here we go.

First up is a complete set of the first series of Resurrection Man issues 1-27 plus issue 1 Million. I've read up to issue #20 and love this one. I'm super pissed that the New 52 series is set to be cancelled in September after the #0 issues come out. I love this series.

Next up we have a complete set of Hawkman issues 1-17 from the 1986 2nd series. I'm on a Hawkman kick right now. Also pictured are Hawkman Special #1 and the 4 issue mini series Shadow War Of Hawkman.

Like I said stay tuned I have more goodies to share. Good to be back. So much papery fun.

Heres a few new ones for me.

Detective Comics #338, 551, 569

A few XMen mini series that wasnt complete.

Complete mini series for XMen.

Age Of Apocolypse 10th anniversary issues and 1 shot issue. The End Books 2 and 3

And now for the coolest ones. This was the packing material the seller of the XMen stuff used. And yes, it is what it looks like.

The front of them.

Lucky they were not part of the lot, but why the fuck would you use comics for packing material, even if they are damaged?

Nice pick ups Paul. Hows the art look in the Incredible Hulk?> Still crappy looking?

Heres mine that came in recently.

Some sets finished off and one more towards the Spider Island story.

1951 All American Westerns. Its in poor (0.5) condition, but for the price I couldnt pass it up. TYook it out to read it and the cover fell off. lol!

some nice books in that bunch Chris. For not being a DC guy theres a ton of them in there. hehehehehehe

The art in Incredible Hulk #12 is actually awesome. Whoever it is that did that issue...... Carlos Pacheco...I just looked heheh should have been doing this run all along. The way incredible is going i'll be glad when this run is done with #15 and they start again with the new creative team.

The latest to the addiction................I meant collection. Razz

Another slice out of the Uncanny X-Men collection.

Couple from the 50's. Not in the best shape, but the price was a steal.

Felix the Cat (1957) and Comics on Parade featuring Nancy and Sluggo (1952/1953 Dec/Jan. issue.) Be nice if you could still pick up books for that price.

For the enabler I chat with whos been trying his best to convert me to DC a bit more, here you go.

Detective Comics #453

And Super-Team Family # 2, 3 , 11, and 14

I got a few more high grade Batman keys today.

First up Batman #227. This is the first Denny O'Neill and Neal Adams book, that changed batman from campy to badass.

Next is Batman 127. This is the issue from 1959 where Batman fights Thor, before he was a Marvel character and still just a norse god.

Batman 181. First appearance of Poison Ivy.

And Batman:Vengeance of Bane. Obviously the first appearance of Bane.

Those all look badass nice Tad. The cover on #227 is sweet. It remiinds me of the first page in one of the older Detective Comics reprints I have here. I'll see if I can find it and post it.

Paul I'd like to see that. It reprints the cover of Detective Comics 31 I think. Classic cover for sure! Love it!

You're right, Johnny. It's a throwback to that classic Bob Kane cover.

Got this in today. It's the first appearance of Ra's Al Ghul. I think now I'm only missing the first silver age Mr. Freeze and Scarecrow to have the first silver age appearances of all the main villains.
